is there any plug in for final cut pro that will show a countdown on the screen of when the current clip will end?

Create a black slug on the video track above your main track. In the canvas viewer, shrink the slug down to small rectangle at the bottom of the screen. Now go to your effects tab>Video Filters>Video>Timecode generator and apply it to the slug.

Great tip!

is there anything were it is just something that pops up for the editor looking at the timeline. kinda like a hud that shows a countdown for the current clip. not something that is actually put onto the video
