62 days FYI, the calculated release date is September 24th.

I arrived at that estimate simply by taking note of the days between preview and release for previous versions of iOS. I also took note of how many betas each version went through before being released. I counted the GM as a beta. Then, I multiplied the average number of betas per version by the average number of betas per day. Then I subtracted the number of days it's been since this year's WWDC keynote.

I created a live countdown, too.

I'm actually unsure about my estimate. If the new OS follows previous OS releases, then we shouldn't see iOS6 until October.

In any case, 61 days until September 24th.

Perhaps you are calculating the date for the GM build? The OS will certainly be released a week before the next iPhone. But for now your calculations sound right!

I counted the GM as a beta so that the calculation would not be thrown off significantly.

There's a rumor that the new iPhone will be out on September 21. If so, September 24th seems like a realistic date for iOS6 to be released.
