I've been trying to get CS:GO to run smoothly on my rMBP. On the built-in screen it manages to get by at 1440x900 at reasonable settings, but on my 1080p monitor it drops. To be expected, obviously.
The issue is that changing the resolution in-game to 1600x900 or even 1366x768 does nothing for performance. The only things that help are turning off vsync or windowed-bordered mode. Without vsync this particular game becomes a frame-tearing mess, and with windowed-bordered I'm stuck looking under the menu bar and application frame. I've been living with the latter, but I'd like to know if there is anything else I could do to improve the experience. I feel like windowed-bordered shouldn't be doubling my frame rate.
