life is slow right here.
Here's my config:

Mac Pro 5,1 2010 3.06GHZ 12-Core
64GB RAM
AMD R9 280X 3GB
Mac OS X Sierra 10.12.5

I like to play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, curious if anyone else on this forum plays the game on Mac OS X.

I notice that when launching CS:GO sometimes the loading screens don't even show up or appear/disappear rather quickly, and then I get a black screen and am unable to do anything after clicking the mouse, and thus must cmd-tab to the finder then click on the CS:GO app icon in the dock to get the main in-game screen. Sometimes after a black loading screen the Hidden Path screen and then the Source screen load after a minute and then the main screen loads, but other times I just get them for a split second and then it goes black and then i have to do the cmd-tab thing..

Also aside from the main menu options clicking on items in the main screen does nothing. Only the main menu at the top with the "PLAY" "INVENTORY" "WATCH" "AWARDS" "OPTIONS" buttons work. Nothing in the news is click-able even though the hi-lights work..

There doesn't appear to be any extensive support for Mac OS X Steam and I've checked the forums and there isn't much there... Mostly ppl talking about their mouse disappearing and how the Universal Access setting doesn't work.

It is obvious that Mac OS X conflicts with Steam games relating to the mouse / keyboard and must be interfaced properly for it to work in any of the games and it must be a chore for the ppl coding steam games to get working properly. I'm not expecting much but figured I'd ask here in case anyone has any comments and/or suggestions on this little ordeal and if they experience the same sort of thing or actually get a flawless loading screen and the UI elements all work in CS:GO running on Mac OS X...

Admittedly, I've only played it for about 5 hours, and quite a long time ago (just about the time it came out), on a MacBook Pro, but I had no problems at that point at all

the game itself plays and runs great in 1920 x 1200 resolution.. but even the "Play on Community Servers" window lacks proper UI element support and you'll notice the in-game pointer is replaced by the mac os pointer and the scroll wheels on the mouse don't work and you must manually click on the scroll bar in the server list window...

the mac os mouse pointer seems to disappear when a screen shot is taken but the traditional CS:GO pointer is left in the same spot while the mac os pointer takes over and is definitely very visible in the Community Servers Browser just not when a screen shot is taken..

Definitely had none of those issues when I played it. But again, a long time ago, and both versions of OS X/macOS have come and passed, and versions of CS:GO too

Mac Pros seem to have issues with CS:GO and it's not related to MacOS 10.12

Before playing, right click in Steam on CS:GO.

Select Properties and click on the location tab.

Select Verify Integrity of Game Files.

After it tells you some are missing, allow it to grab the files that you are missing.

After it has the files, hit the play button in Steam and wait. It may be awhile going from a black screen to the game screen.

Unfortunately, this needs to be done every time you play after rebooting your computer.

that doesn't fix anything...it verified and found one file that needed to be reacquired. ran it again and it said 100% verified. but the problems aren't fixed.

Can you elaborate on "Mac Pro's" having issues that aren't related to Mac OS 10.12? Hardware issue?? Or just an issue based on a specific unsupported vid-card perhaps??
