Countless itunes error messages.Phone works on iBook but not PC.

For the last month I have not been able to sync my 2G 8GB iPhone and getting the message "Attempting to copy to disk failed disk could not be read or written to." and also the " iPhone could not be synced. The disk could not be read or written to." in itunes. So I do some searching and just decide to restore my phone, should fix the problem right? After attempting to restore I get " The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred.(9)". So at this point I'm stumped.(all of this was on my 2 pc's I tried both of them.). So then I broke out my iBook G4 and attempt to restore. I restore with no problems. I can sync, restore and everything on the iBook. I plug it back into my pc. Still all of the same error messages only now half the time it does not even give me a message it just starts the sync and disconnects from itunes without saying anything. Also I got out my old 2nd Gen nano as an ipod substitute and it gave me the same error messages the first 3 times i tried to sync and the fourth time it succeeded, I just thought that was funny. So I've tried everything from different cables and ports to downgrading the firmware but nothing has worked and I don't want to give up on my little buddy now. So should I just forget about it and buy a new phone? Try and put everything from my pc onto my iBook ? or do you guys have some suggestions?
