Country Codes on new macbook

I have a question. I just got the new aluminum macbook and can play any DVD regardless of country code on it. Is this a new feature of the macbook or does it play both for a while and then stop playing anything. Does anybody have more information on the subject? Thanks

You can change the region 5 times, after that, you're stuck unless you replace the drive.

It never ask me to set or change my country codes, it just plays whatever I insert.
