I would like to terminate my iphone4 contract with At&T
so that I can use the iphone in Japan just by swiping the sim card
I heard that its country lock has to be unlocked in
order to use it oversea.
Jailbreaking isn't an option for me.
Does anyone know how to unlock country lock?
Does att provide such code?
Please help!

There is no official unlock available for AT&T iPhones, and the methods used by other operators won't work with AT&T phones.

Sorry :(

Why is jb/unlock not an option? If it's because of your bb, you should say so.
Remember that AT&T is the exclusive GSM provider for the iPhone. They have no motivation to unlock your phone. Since T-mobile's going to be assimilated, what reason does AT&T have to unlock the iPhone?
Use some critical thinking skills.
