Oddity is a good thing. Keeps people on their toes. My own tastes range from Mannheim Steamroller to Skinny Puppy, from Howard Jones to Public Enemy, from Limp Bizkit to RuPaul. It's all about the mood that's striking.
Besides, isn't it Black Metal that occasionally features Anti-Christian themes, not Death Metal?

Oh, and to the OP: Have you considered The Echoing Green? They're more synthpop than rock, I'll admit (although they do feature electric guitar now and then); and they have Christian themes but are not "preachy" about it.
I do like the "old" Our Lady Peace, but I like almost everything they've put out.
Had not heard of them until last year though, so that's probably why I couldn't care less about old or new.

Third Day - More along the lines of Southern Rock. They are know to play Lynyrd Skynyrd songs in concert. (Conspirecy Number 5 is their hardest album)
Toby Mac - A bit more on the Rap side, but still rocks
Phil Keggy - guitar virtuoso who dabbles in a lot of different styles

Tree 63 - Though they broke up a few years back
Fireflight is really good
P.O.D.
DeGarmo & Key and Petra if you are looking for Old School
Audio Adrenaline - Another one that broke up, but man, they were great!
Switchfoot has been mentioned
And if you like Thousand Foot Crutch, check out FM Static
And of course... Superchick
