Couple questions on themes

I have found a nice theme that I really like. The only thing i would like to change is the color of the notification numbers that appear on badges (new mail for example). Is this possible without having to change the theme altogether?

Also, if I find another theme I like and it is one of the all-encompassing themes (LS, dialer, icons, etc) is there a way to pull pieces of of that theme and only use say the icons?
