Hello,
I have an old iPhone. The one year warranty expires Sept 28. Within the past week the volume up button has stopped working. I have no real interest in a 3g version since my home area is not even covered and I actually like the silver backing better because it matches my MBP. But it really sucks having not being able to adjust volume without going through all the menus, and honestly, the thought of having something not work on my phone bothers me on shear principle. I take very good care of my phones and actually had my last phone for 4 years. I kept it because I never found a phone that I liked enough to replace it until the iPhone came out. Will they give me a new one or do something to fix the problem?

You should definitely be covered, especially if your phone looks to be in as good of condition as you are saying it is.

Who knows if they'll take it in for a repair or give you a new one (original, not 3G). But either way you win!
