Coverflow and Media

If I had a movie on my computer and I wanted to add the artwork for this movie to the file so I could see the poster in coverflow, would this be possible. Obviously it can be done in iTunes with .mov files, by changing the artwork, but can something similar be done that the Finder can use. I have tried creating a folder and going to 'get info' and dragging an image to the folder icon, but this doesn't work. Anyone got any ideas??
