Do the pics that you add as albulm art need to be a certain size? I copy and paste alot my own pics and they show up in the peripherals but when the song plays that the pic belongs to its just a music note? Some work right and some dont?

Sorry to break the 3.0 trend..Haha

I tendo not to googole my cover artwork. What I do is search the song that I want to get album artwork for on itunes and make sure you copy exactly what it says for the name artist and album names. After you done that right click the song and find album artwork. It will then have the correct size when it shows up on your iphone.

They can be any size in my understanding. A few of mine are 1425x1425 when the iTunes album artwork trick worked.

Some of the stuff i listen to isnt in itunes so getting album art from itunes isnt an option, unfortunatly. Its just a minor detail... I'll live.

Open the music file in itunes then and just right click the song and find album artwork and your done.

You can technically use any .JPEG image as album artwork. If you really want the artwork scan it, crop and resize it. A few of my compilation albums aren't on iTunes and this is how I added the artwork. You can also look on Amazon, Play.com etc and see if they have the album artwork on there.

I use photos from an interesting series that I find online and then add them as to the album order on itunes.

Then when I use cover flow on my iphone they all run together like a flicker book.

I've found 700x700 works ok. For some albums it's hard to get high resolution images of the cover that aren't messed up scans.

I use 400x400 so as to not take up too much space with giant artwork files.

I do a Google image search like this: *album name* imagesize:400x400

They don't need to be a certain size. I get most of mine from Amazon in about 280x280 seems to work fine. Make sure you are putting the pics in all your "songs" for that particular album for them to show up for each song.

Ya, but once you start pimping your music on different UIs and devices (Apple TV, media streamers, etc.) you're gonna want higher res album art.

I say go for 500x500 as a minimum now and save yourself the upgrade work later. Just google image search it up, find a big juicy one, right click-copy-highlight album-paste right into itunes. bam.

I get my album art from Google Images and Discogs.com, if the track was obtained by 'other means', rather than iTunes, Amazon(which accounts for 90% of my collection, lol), etc. :D ;)

Yeah, I use 500x500 as a minimum too.

I figure that the iPhone is 480x320 and it doesn't take up nearly the horizontal length of the phone in the coverflow icon, so 280x280 is acceptable for me.
