Are the fans running unusually low? I'm watching an HD streaming movie from Netflix and noticed that my CPU was around 165-170F. I could barely hear the fans. When I checked the RPMs of the fans, they looked unusually low to me.

The upper left part of the notebook casing is very, very hot. If they are running too low, is it something that I can fix or do I have to take it in to Apple? They're supposed to automatically go higher, right?

smcFanControl if you want to manually adjust your fan speed

P.S. You're still under 75 degrees Celcius, so no harm, but I believe the fan should kick up a bit by that temp.

When my MBP hit's around 72C the fans will kick up to 2.5-3k RPM. But I know fan speeds vary depending on the screen size of the MBP.
