cpu change

Hi
i bought a power mac off ebay with one cpu but no faults i used this for about 2 weeks then i bought another power mac with a logic board problem,the idea being was to take a cpu out of the second machine and put in the first when i did this i booted it up and the fans went mad apart from this its is working fine
any help would be very welcome
