hi,

so i have been reading alot of thread, a thread i came across was people's setup of mbp using bookarc or hengedocks.

I recall that cpu/gpu will be underclocked if mbp is closed due to heat issues (or something like that), yet bookarc claims it speeds up the mb because no vram goes to maintaining the internal display.

so which is correct?

That is not true at all. There are no heat issues with running in clamshell mode, and nothing is underclocked when doing so.

Ah... This is coming back to the myth that MBPs vent via the keyboard. FALSE. They vent through the hinge out the back, so clamshell mode wouldn't make any difference in heat. So why would there be a need for underclocking?

it wasnt related to the venting in the keyboard thing. i remember i saw a thread on it and there were even graphs... now if only i could find it again
