hi i have a mac mini Macmini2,1 mid 2007 and it has T5600 cpu i need to speed it up some and i know that peaple put the intel t7600 is a 2.33ghz chip (14x667) but i have found a great deal on a laptop core 2 extreme X9000 that has a fsb of 800 and a muti of 14 so at 800mhz its 2.80 (14x800) can i use that chip and it will be under clocked at 2.33 (14x667) or will that damage some thing

here is the spec sheet http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=34443&processor=X9000&spec-codes=SLAQJ,SLAZ3

No, the fastest you can put in it is the T7600. The Mini will not boot if it the CPU has a faster bus speed then 667Mhz.

thanks for the info i found one for less then the t7600 and it has a 6mb cache so i was hoping it would under clock and be a t7600 with a 6mb cache
