CPW Upgrade??

I was wondering if you could walk into a CPW store tomorrow and upgrade without having bought my original iPhone from them??

Yes you can!

Also you will be able to do it on the CPW website from tomorrow aswell i believe!

You would need to contact O2 Direct to ask about whether you can upgrade
your old iPhone to the new 3G iPhone.

This is because it is O2 Direct who handle your billing and service
provision and therefore this would be their decision.

You can contact O2 Direct on 08705 860 860.

I trust this is fully resolved for you. If there's anything else we can
do to help you please reply to this email.


I think I'd suggest avoicing CPW if I could!

On the subject of upgrading at CPW. When upgrading online at the o2 website they said that "If the cost of the upgrade is less than £100 it will be added to your monthly bill". Will this still be the case at CPW or would you have to actually pay for it tomorrow? i.e Pay CPW £59 tomorrow to upgrade (going from an 8gb to 16gb on a £45 tariff?)

Well I decided to go and answer my own question and popped into my local CPW.

The first guy I spoke to seem to have no idea what he was talking to until I explained to him what I wanted.. he was stilled mystified until someone else butted in and told me I could upgrade.

Now I just hope they were telling the truth!

I have asked in four different CPW (yeah i had time on my hands) including one where my friend works and they all said i could upgrade there! Plus all four said they had plenty of supply some of them got their stock yesterday as well!

I've just had a follow up telephone call from CPWs correspondence department who have said that they WILL NOT perform upgrades in store and we would have to go to O2.

Bunch of losers!

Yes absolutely, I did so first thing this morning along with others and my original iPhone was purchased from O2 not CPW, upgraded with no issue by CPW.
Though as everyone probably knows lots of issues from the O2 computer systems meant the upgrade took longer than it should have!!

I upgraded at CPW and they charged me there so they don't add it to the phone bill.
I just hope the monthly bill still comes directly from 02 and not through the CPW
