If I remember correctly, someone got their screen replaced for ~$150-175.

May I ask how that happened? I just find it ironic that protection for the iPhone (granted it wasn't for the screen) but still managed to damage it.

hhahaha

sorry

that really sucks

buy some thin plastic glass stuff

and cut it out and bam it works

see this guide

It seems like a viable option, but I'm in the same situation, and I'd much rather pay the fee to have the screen repaired.

Besides the fact that the screen quality won't nearly be as good, plastic will show scratches much easier. While the glass of the iPhone can be cracked, it's virtually impervious to scratches from my experience.

my girlfirend knocked it off her dresser then a metal rod fell into the screen:eek::eek::eek::eek: mine is till good tho
and the funny thing is when she was showing me what hit her phone when i got home for work she accidently hit my 24imac with the metal rod:mad::mad::mad: i almost lost it !!!!

I guess you should not let your girlfriend be around large metal rods.

I would check iFixitit.com maybe a little costly, but not as much as a new one.
