Hi! So I cracked the little piece of plastic Apple on the lid of my 2016 MacBook Pro. Will Apple be able to replace just the lid aluminum with plastic Apple, or will the entire display need to be replaced? There is no LCD damage. Thanks for the help in advance.

So I’m looking at a really really expensive replacement?
Yep, Apple has been moving in the direction of making their laptops non-repairable (even by them), so you'll need an entire display/top panel assembly. The display panel is typically one of the most expensive components on a laptop so it will be expensive :(

Unless you're willing to pay for the replacement, perhaps your best option is to just "live with it..."

Paste an apple sticker over it!
Even better, use the real thing!

Oh yes. I meant 2015. I'm not sure how it happened. Perhaps something related to putting it down to hard in my case. It is a 2015 MPB. Can they replace the aluminum cover on the 2015, guess not. Time for a new machine... :(

That seems extreme to replace a machine that is fully functional for a broken nonfunctional trim piece... Do you replace cars when they get a scratch in the paint? It's cosmetic.
