Cracked screen and a drop of water - likely serious damage?

Hi!

I dropped my iphone yesterday, with some of the top right of the screen completely coming off and the rest becoming cracked. I haven't had time to replace the screen yet, and today I got stuck in the rain - my pocket became moist, and when I took the iphone out I could see there were tiny drops of water on it. The screen then went white, although I can still see what's going on. I turned the phone off and have put it in rice.

Is it worth me getting the screen replaced? Is it likely to have severely damaged the use of the iphone itself, or just the screen?

If you let the iPhone stay in rice for a few days, it could be enough to change the screen..
