Bummers man :(

You have three choices in front of you
  1. Fix it yourself, you'll need to find a display panel on the net and directions. Can be a bit technically challenging though. The cheapest option however
  2. Have Apple fix it, they'll use apple parts and know the job will get done right - the downside is it will be pricier then option 1
  3. Sell the Laptop for parts or at the very least stating that the display is cracked

Did you get the 1,000 quote from apple? That does seem a bit high for the MBA. I'd call and check what the costs are if that's just your estimate.

I dont think i cab fix it myself cause im only 14 :/ and i live in ireland so i dont have a apple store, but there is an apple reseller where i live, they fixed my ipod screen. How much would it cist to fix it would you think

Sorry, I have no idea, especially since you're not local to the US so other factors will impact the cost - best thing is to call them and see if they can give you a ball park estimate on replacing the display panel

Ok thanks, but if i replace the screen will it fix all the lines shown on he picture cause i cant use my macbook anymore

Hi
Take it to apple shop if you have one near by,
If not then plug it into a monitor to see if its just the screen,

Yeah - you cracked the heck out of that screen. Thats the kind of crack I've seen when someone closes the screen with something like an earphone sitting on the keyboard.

Yes, replacing the screen will fix the issue.

That;s actually a good other, cheapest option, though it'll be ugly: get a Mini DisplayPort to VGA, DVI or HDMI adapter, and plug it into a monitor or LCD TV. The damage is definitely a cracked screen, and plugging into an external monitor will let you keep using the Mac if you can't afford to fix it.
