Cracked screen and upgrade?

So I dropped my iPhone 5 last night and the screen shattered. How much will the resell value be after the 5S comes out? I was planning on paying $229 for the replacement screen, buy the new 5S and then sell the replacement iPhone 5. (If the resell value is greater than $229 of course)

Guessing anywhere between $300-$400 depending on GB.

But who knows, the Apple genius you see might replace your iPhone for free. Some are known to do that. Just be completely honest about what happens. If it does, awesome. If it doesn't, at least you tried.

$229 on a screen? Apple only charges $149 for just a display and $269 if a display only can't be done due to enclosure damage.

yea my bad, the glass on the back cracked too so the apple rep told me it would be 270
