I dropped my iPhone 4 & the front glass cracked. While the device still works I must replace it. Waiting till the 5 comes out to use my upgrade.

Any advice where I can get a used or refurbished 4? Or maybe genus bar will help me out? Not covered by apple care or insurance.

Thanks for any direction!

I had the same problem when I had an iPhone with cracked glass that otherwise worked fine. I looked around and found a number of private service companies that would replace my iPhone glass for less than $150. I picked one, had them replace the glass, and my iPhone was good as new. Now I can wait for the next new model but I have a perfectly good iPhone in the meantime.

If you feel like giving it a shot yourself, the screens really aren't that difficult to replace on your own and come for about $80 on eBay (all the tools can be found on eBay as well). Mine shattered pretty bad this summer and I was able to replace it in about an hour.

There are countless repair guides online but I find the best to be http://www.ifixit.com/

They are faily easy to replace, and can be had much cheaper than $80 bucks these days.
