Cracked screen on iPhone 3g

I cracked the screen on my phone a few months ago. When I went to Apple to see what my options were, I was told that I would need to pay the $299 price for a new 16g iPhone 3g. I am wondering if now that the price has dropped to $149, will I be able to pay this price to get a replacement.

Hey, do it yourself! It's really not that hard... esp on the 3G. Message me and I'll help ya out... check out ebay for replacement parts for ~$50-60. I can also do the repair for ya or buy the phone from ya, but I'd rather help ya out.
