One of my employes dropped something on my new MacBook pro it dented the outside and cracked the screen. I was checking to see if anyone new the cost of repair. Also would it help any to by AppleCare I know it doesn't cover accidental but i am just checking on what I need to do. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Has your colleague/employee some kind of insurance that would cover the repair?

A friend of mine once let water sip into the display of my iBook and his insurance covered the repair.

Buying Apple Care will not help in any way, it will just cover any defects the machine has, which don't result from your usage in any way, for two more years after the first year runs out. But you need to buy Apple Care within the first year of your purchase.

The repair will probably be about $800 for a Tier 3 repair which replaces the entire display assembly.

AppleCare won't help (it doesn't cover accidental damage).
