I dropped my iPhone today and broke it. =o( There is a small crack in the upper right hand corner. But worstly the screen does NOT respond to the touch of my finger. Home and power button still works. Ive tried factory reseting it with no luck.

Is this a hardware problem or will the replacement of a new glass screen fix it?

Some veteran iphone advice would be much appreciated!!!:)

Cracked screen

I also just cracked my screen. I just got a 3GS after my 3g was stolen at the casino less than a month ago. It's cracked all over, but everything still works fine. I purchased the apple care protection plan when I bought the phone does it cover cracked screens? There are people that say the warranty covers accidental damage and others are saying its $200 for a new screen. Does anyone know if the apple care protection plan covers my problem? thanks in advance

No, it doesnt cover accidents. Only manufacturer defects.
They will charge you $200

the Apple Care plan only covers manufactures defects. when the phone hits the ground it is out of warranty. you can get a new Apple Screen installed for $100 but not at an Apple Store. the screens you get off eBay are not actual Apple Replacement parts and they do not have the extra gasket around the screen to keep out the dust and moisture.
