Crackling audio in windows vista

I am having major issues with audio in vista where every 20 seconds or so any audio will become crackerly for a few seconds.

I am running a Mac Pro 2.66 with 2gb ram.

If anyone knows any solution to this problem this would be most appriciated, also I have had this problem on the 2 latest versions of boot camp and drivers.

i get this during games (the only reason i go over to vista). i figured it was always my computer's way of handling the lag. but it does start to annoy me that it happens when i'm not even moving or when the game is running smoothly.
