Hi,
I'm trying to record using Logic 9 but getting a nasty crackling sound on both recording and playback. I'm using a Tascam U-144 as an interface and a direct line from a guitar into that.
I've tried:
changing guitar signal leads and guitars
changing USB leads
unplugging all my other devices (screen, hard drive etc)
updating the tascam driver
using speakers and headphones
using the tascam output and the computer output
.... no joy!
I'm running a macbook white with 2gb of ram, 2.16 GHz intel core 2duo on leopard OS X 10.5.8.
Also, this doesn't happen when I'm using my firewire controller keyboard with soft sounds so its definitely something to do with the external input side of things.
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated.
I'll upload a sample when my internet speeds up!
Pete
