10.2.3 on a dual 1.25 Ghz machine with USB audio (Soundsticks)

the title says it all, but Any kind of upload from the dual causes the USB audio on the desktop to stutter and eventually stop. This is true of all audio, even system beeps.

If I send audio out through the inbuilt speaker or headphones, there is no problem.

i know this has been dscussed before, but does anyone have a solution?

thanks

I have this problem in 10.2.3 with a USB audio interface (Edirol UA-20) as well, but I don't have AirPort. It seems to just stutter infrequently at random times, but the stutters are clustered together. It doesn't seem to be caused by heavy CPU load or buffer underruns, either. Built-in audio is fine. I'm still waiting for the UA-20 drivers to emerge from beta, though.

its definatly a software thing, since it doesnt happen in OS9

i just dont want to reinstall or format because of this:mad:

I (think) I found the solution.. It was the D-Link bluetooth adapter which caused it. Plug in: stuttering audio Plug out: smooth as silk

this proves that it was all USB-related after all, so for everyone with the same problem should try removing all USB devices.. Did the trick for me at least
