Hi All

Not a happy bunny at the moment with my Mac kit.

First last year a couple of months after buying the ACD has to go back to have a new
panel fitted because it developed nasty black smudges inside it, now the smudges have returned, aaarrrgghhhhh.

Now today the Mac Pro USB sound out has developed a crackling over everything I play.

:(

The mac pro's sound isn't USB, unless you are using an external USB sound card. Try unplugging and reinserting it into another USB port, or just rebooting your system. If that doesn't work, then there is something wrong with your external USB sound card.

Sorry, what I meant by USB was in the fact that the ACD gets its sound via the USB using the Display Audio - USB setting.

Yup just plugged it into another USB port and all is fine, still not happy that a USB port should suddenly start playing up like that
for no apparent reason :(

Such is the nature of USB. I would highly recommend you use the built in soundcard for your Mac Pro rather than USB sound.
