Crash after Activator installed

After installing lockinfo or backgrounder I am unable to open apps. They try to open then just crash. I think the problem is the activator program that is installed with both lockingo and backgrounder since once I uninstall either of them the problem clears. Anyone else had the same issue or a solution since I was unable to locate one on these forums.
