iPad Crash when pinch zoom and pan

It crashes immediately, every time, when I pinch zoom and then scroll down. It has been like this for half a year, at least. Is this due to bad design of the web page, or a bug in Safari/iOS? It doesn't crash on my computer...

I've got this issue on my iPad 3 with iOS 8.1, and I also tried this yesterday in a store with a brand new iPad Air 2.

I've filed a bug report to Apple, and I've also contacted Aftonbladet. No response so far. Can I do something about this?

I can routinely crash Safari on theverge.com if I pinch zoom on any image on their front page. Causes that "Safari had a problem and reloaded the page" error every single time.
