Can any of you nice chaps advise what this is?

Whilst in iPhoto loading a video, the screen "scrolled" down from the top and turning dim. It then came up with the above message.

Thanks!

(I've not seen an error message on osx before so sorry i'f i'm a bit stupid)

That message is called a Kernel Panic, the Mac version of the blue screen of death.

You have no option but to power the machine down and reboot. They are generally conducive of a larger error but if it is just a once off I'd personally ignore it.

Its actually the second time :(

I have Apple Care. Do you think there is something wrong with the machine. Coming from Windows I know the Blue Screen of Death isn't great. :(

Thanks for your help by the way!

It just works................................

.........................................................................After a reboot

Generally, it's indicative of a hardware issue. I would go ahead and contact Apple as you have AppleCare. It would be no fun if it happened repeatedly and your AppleCare expired.
