CRASHES to white/black Apple Screen?

My phone crashed twice today back to an all white Apple screen. A lock and unlock fixed it both times, but I hope this is not indicative of a greater problem down the road, or is it just buggy iOS 8.02?

Has this happened to a lot of people? I hadn't even heard of it until before it happened to me today. Then I came home and saw another thread where someone returned their phone for a new one because it wouldn't come out of the frozen Apple screen.

Software glitch. Spring crashing. Restore device as new and it should fix it.

Bummer it is a problem with 6+. Beautiful phone, buggy iOS. Seems this would've been worked out previous to launch. Hope 8.1 has some more scaling issue fixes.
