Hi there,
when i try to burn a data dvd (by selecting a folder and going to file>burn "folder name" to disc) – the following happens:

after i put in the blank disc i see the progress bar for a few seconds then it crashes. the mac then asks me if i want to mount the blank dvd. i usually eject the disk at this moment.

The burn doesn't start at all. other times it works as normal and burns ok.

before i put in my blank dvd i get this message. notice the last line in the message does not appear. wondering if this is because of a corrupt preference file

Is there a preference i can trash or reset for the dvd drive?
i have tried trashing the com.apple.finder.plist but still got the problem.

i am using snow leopard 10.6 on intel imac
thanking you
