This on a M2 MBA running 15.1. Note that this problem only occurs when typing in a table in the Notes app. Typing is normal in every other app. This problem only started in the last few days. It doesn't happen outside of the table in the same note.

For example:

I try to type: Turns out that the some copies of the same version of ffmpeg

But I get this: Turns out that smeo copis of e the sam version offfmpeg e

(It would drive you nuts, wouldn't it?)

I've disabled everything in Edit > Spelling & Grammar, but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

No ideas particularly, but just wanted to mention that this (insertion point position sometimes being erratic when typing in table cells) has been a thing for 2-3 years, maybe more. So it's not a new thing in Sequoia's Notes.

Thank you. I wasn't aware of that. Oddly, I put a new table in the same Note but it has none of the insertion point issues.

There's another long-time issue with tables in Notes where a cell sometimes seems to become "read-only" and doesn't let you type anything in it until you click out of it and then click back into it. I actually remember at one point on the Apple feedback site where you could report an issue with Notes, one of the multiple-choice entries for "What's going wrong" described this specific issue!

All that to say, there is something fundamentally a bit dodgy/unreliable about table editing in Notes (I think it happens more often in big tables with many rows/columns) and they haven't licked it yet :(

Right. The table where I first experienced this was quite long. Of course, whenI added a new table to the note it was quite short. So, no weird text - yet.

Thanks for the enlightenment.
