Well, it is kind of crazy. At least this guy was.

I was at the apple store getting support for my "bricked" iPhone when I see them bring a cart full of iPhones (40) to behind the genius bar (where they keep all of the products). I figured a shipment came in and they were going to stick them in there.

But then, I see a guy come up and hand this lady seven thousand dollars. Did not look like he worked for apple, and I know they would'nt be tranferring money around that freely. So I forget about it, and am still sitting there, and I hear the security guard ask the guy "so why so many?" Yes, that is right, this guy bought 40 iPhones (8G) a total of 16 thousand dollars before tax.

Why would this guy need 40 iPhones??? What do you think??

My guess is he would unlock them and sell them on eBay, maybe not even knowing about the brick problem. Sucks for him if that was the case

The world will never know.....

Damn. True case (ha. ha.) of more money than sense...

He was problay a smack dealer giving them to his dealers

Or he was filling a large overseas order where they are not available

Take your pick:D

More like sucks for those who buy them on eBay from him before the 1.1.1 fix comes out.

Although I guess that scenario depends on what version of the firmware was on those phones.

Probably sales premiums. The company I used to work for gave out oodles of iPods, and we'd go on buying sprees like that too sometimes (though usually not quite so expensive, but it was a small company).

I think I remember someone saying Rush Limbaugh bought 20 of them for his staff when they launched ..hmm $599 x 20 = ~$12k.

It was probably just something like that.
