This may be a dumb question but here goes:

I have a Windows desktop PC which I sync my 30GB 5.5G iPod to. I only have Outlook 2002 so my contacts/calendar will not sync to the iPod.
I recently purchased a MacBook but, since the HD is not that big (80GB) I want to continue using my desktop to sync my iPod with.
Is there any I can keep doing that but sync my contacts and calendar from the MacBook?

Yeah, if you plug your iPod into the Mac, don't let iTunes sync the music but Enable Disk Usage in the iPod Preferences, then head to the Contacts tab and enable your synchronising. iTunes 7.0 should allow for different aspects of the iPod to be synced with different machines. :)
