I remember seeing this issue on my previous MacBooks, but didn't expect to see it again on the new MPB TB.

Basically, every time I lift off the MBP from the left side, I can hear underneath a creaking noise. If I push on the body in a certain spot, it will certainly make that creaking/clicking noise. I can also reproduce a similar noise by pushing down on the left side of the trackpad. The sound I'm getting seems to be more of the springs inside, rather than the screws being loose.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Not sure if it's worth chasing a replacement for this.

If it doing it when it is off then something might be loose on the trackpad. I would take it in and see what Apple says, and see if their display models have the same issue.

I had this with my 2015 MBP. It's a consequence of the stiff aluminium chassis and the small discrepancies between how the machines are assembled that causes some units to creek.

It could be the rubber pads on the bottom sticking

I thought about that, but I'm holding it in my hand. It's basically when I push on the left side of the trackpad, either from the bottom or top.

Did you exchange it or just live with it? It's not a deal breaker, just a bit annoying when it's super quiet in the room.
