Create a server along side imac

HI all
I have an imac c2d 2.1ghz and 2 gb ram.
Right now I have so much movies,music and photos on it, I just want to create a server with an acquired powermac g4 quicksilver system.It doesnt have a monitor.
I already have a WD 500gb which is of no use because of time machine and i dont use time machine that much either.
Plus ihave a passport which has a few movies on it.

So how can i have all my movies,music photos organize that it doesnt slug my imac and i can use it for my editing needs etc etc.

should i create a server with the powermac g4 which has only 80gb on it or is there another way?

Yes you do. You use it all the time and don't even realize it. That's how Time Machine works, it quietly works in the background backing up your data.
