Hello
I have many different video files and I would like to convert them all to h.264, because I thing that format has the best quality/filesize ratio. Most conversion programs give me the option to convert to a file that is perfect for ipod, or Apple TV or whatever. But I would like to just convert to a file that LOOKS the same as the original, but with a minimal file size.
Any tips anyone, please?

Aye, there's the rub.

You just hit on the most common point of file conversion. Finding the "sweet spot" for quality versus file size can be a very subjective and complex thing.

Search these forums for conversion guides. There are several good ones out there. Always keep in mind what device, you're going to be playing these on. If you're just archiving for your mac, pick the highest bit rate possible that makes you happy with the file size.
