So i was just wondering that if i used this option where there was no wireless signal, if it would work. or does the macbook itself generate a signal that other computers and stuff can connect into. the only time i've tried this was when there was a wireless router nearby, so i'm just clarifying this for myself.

thanks in advance.

It turns your MacBook into a WiFi Access point. Only really useful if you either just communicate between the MacBook and other machines connected to it or you have an ethernet connection on the MacBook going to a router and you enable internet sharing on the WiFi connection.

but like can i use it to establish a connection between two mb's so i can play a game or something when there's no wireless signal around?

sorry if you answered it already in your previous post.. i'm pretty tired.. haha
