iOS Create Wrapper for .app to Install Via Xcode?

Over in the iPad forums, someone mentioned that they installed MyWi on their non-jailbroken phone by taking the .app file, creating a wrapper, codesigning and then installing it via Xcode. What is this "wrapper" they're speaking of?
