I ordered a new hard drive to have Lion on it specifically. I am currently running Snow Leopard and was wondering if it'd be possible to download Lion now and burn it to a disc/drive. After burning to disc/drive, can I delete the installer and be fine?

I plan to take the disc/drive and boot into it for the new bare drive. Will this allow me to bypass installing Snow Leopard first?

Thanks!

yes make a bootable dvd or put on thumb drive. then when you get your new drive you can install directly on that.

That will work just fine. There are a bunch of threads here on how to actually make the boot disc, just do a search.

To go further, I plan to put a new empty drive into a USB enclosure and install Lion to it. My main HDD in my Mac is SL is this a good idea to install Lion via USB/CD to an empty drive that is plugged in via USB?
