I recently purchased a new MacBook 2 weeks ago, and have some movies on my harddrive. What is the best way to get them on a watchable dvd disk that plays in a dvd player. I am assuming imovie or idvd, but not sure how to do.

Thanks.

First, what format are the movies in?

and are they home movies or ripped dvd's?

Gonna assume home movies here, and I would say for the novice, use iDvd assuming they are in reasonable format. as dejo questioned the format. That will make the most difference on what pre-processing needs to be done.

Ripped movies in mp4 format

Eww, ick, been there done that, idvd took forever, and imovie did something to them, then putting them in idvd after that they came out looking like garbage.

I'm still looking for a good way but for me personally, they're fine on my external hard drive and imported to iTunes.

There's probably a good way but I quite trying to figure it out a few months ago.
