creating a short video like the recent apple commercial

Hi
I'm totally new to video/photo editing softwares but i would like to create something similar to the recent http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpZmIiIXuZ0 apple commercial. Basically i want a short video with same background and some animated text. However i would like some pictures flowing in and out too. Not sure which software to use and where to begin. Any pointers would be appreciated
