If I want to use certain clips of various songs and then put them together for a background of a slideshow, how should I do this? I know that I can have iTunes start and stop a song at a certain length... so should I copy a song and crop it to keep the original in tact... then burn all those cropped songs to a CD and upload it while merging all the tracks to one and then set that as the slideshow's background?

Help, anybody?

I tried to do my method, however when I copied a song and renamed it... it wouldn't add to my library as a new song... just highlight and play the original song copied (obviously they're the same audio; I just renamed the one because I wanted to edit it)

Garage band can do this kind of thing. That is what it is made for

Copy each song to it's own track, slide them around to time align them the way to want to either cut the parts you don't want or down the volume down to zero. Notice that it you run one track volume down and the other up you have a cross fade effect
