I need some help with creating an alias to a couple of folders on my server at work. I need two aliases:
afp://***.grimsby.ac.uk/students1/
afp://***.grimsby.ac.uk/students2/

But I'm not sure how to make these. I can't do the cmd+option+drag trick as then it wont work unless the students are logged in as me.

So is there anyway to create the alias manually?

Never mind! I figured it out.

Connect to the folder you want to share, then press cmd+up arrow to go up a level. Now drag the share point holding cmd+alt and bobs your uncle.

works with vnc

was having the same problem on a remote mac (using JollysFastVNC) and this worked. thanks!
