Creating Automation for Caseta

I just purchased the on/off Lutron Caseta for my living room fan. I'd like an automation for my fan to automatically cut on when my Homekit notices I am in the living room. I have an Ecobee3 setup in my living room that detects that someone is in the living room. I'd also like it to automatically cut off when I have left the living room.

Does the Ecobee (or its sensors) act as a presence sensor or just a motion sensor?

I have a couple that I need to install and may be testing similar automations soon.
