Okay, so I had the good ol' spinning gear problem on* my mac. Thought nothing of it. After several failed attempts, got in through safe mode and backed up the Mountain Lion install .dmg onto a usb and thought I'd simply burn the DMG onto the USB. Found out that's rather hard because I have to partition the USB for use with Mac. I can't use Transmac because the trial ran out and I'm trying to save money here. (otherwise I would have sent it to the Apple Store). Is there any way to partition and install the dmg onto a USB on windows 7 for use an iMac.

Previously, when I tried with Transmac, it booted off a USB and it booted with the grey screen and the apple logo before after 5 minutes, the apple logo turned into a circle with a slash through.(just saying)
